Cosmic Connections is the theme for the Summer Reading 2000 at the Howard Public Library. Young people from Kindergarten through 6th grade are encouraged to participate, it helps keep reading skills at the level they are at the end of the school year and also is a good type of relaxation in what otherwise is a busy summer. Sign up will be May 22 and will run through July 31. We are hoping to do some different things this year, but are still in the organizational phase of the program so there will be more details later. We will award prizes from some local merchants for the top readers in each grade. Everyone reading the required number of books will receive the school packet and certificate.
